Your role

You will contribute to the overall operational, performance, and service standard targets in your field of work by working as a team. You will support administrative tasks within HMCTS and move cases through the court/tribunal system. You will interact with court and tribunal users on a regular basis, including members of the legal profession and the judiciary.

You will be flexible, capable of multitasking, and capable of performing a wide range of tasks, such as:

  • Getting documents and files ready for hearings, meetings, courts, and tribunals

The Liverpool Foundation Trust’s Ophthalmology department houses the Clinical Eye Research Centre, a specially designed facility that supports clinical trials and research in all facets of eye research. Principal Responsibilities of the position

In addition to being directly in charge of the day-to-day registration and efficient administration of all grant-based and non-commercial research projects through the Clinical Eye Research Centre, the position will also be in charge of evaluating research costs and advising Trust researchers on how to set up and conduct research projects. Being a member of a business team and serving as the sponsor’s point of contact helps to detect and mitigate risks while making sure that expectations are met. The position holder will be in charge of long-term research initiatives and guarantee the precision and calibre of regulatory data. The Director for Strategic People Partnering Services (SCS2) and the Business Support Manager (SEO) will be assisted by the HEO Business Manager position. They will operate independently and intelligently to actively manage and advance the Director’s job responsibilities. As a crucial point of contact for the senior leader they assist, they play a crucial role in both internal and external meetings.

The position holder plays a crucial role in setting priorities for work at a reasonable pace by establishing productive relationships with a range of stakeholders and by having a thorough awareness of the work of the directorate, DWP, and other settings.

The post-holder needs to be highly organised, efficient and able to juggle competing priorities effectively, autonomously taking or effectively delegating decisions on the Director’s behalf to ensure the effective commissioning and flow of work to meet challenging deadlines. It is therefore a demanding yet rewarding role.

The post holder will also be expected to produce high quality work on behalf of the Director and take the initiative to lead on ad hoc project work- to support the effective management of the directorate.

The role will involve line management of business support colleagues.

Like all business support roles, the role requires high levels of flexibility in order to provide a high quality service across very flexible operating hours. 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the SEO Business Support Manager to manage and prioritise the work flow, including efficient inbox and file management, in order to give the Director the support they need to accomplish their priorities;
  • Serve as the Director’s first point of contact for any general questions, working with the Business Support Manager to make sure the specific requests are sent out on time.
  • Create and preserve productive connections with all levels of the directorate’s stakeholders as well as those of the larger DWP and Civil Service community, making sure that all communications are efficient and transparent;
  • Commission and start the process of writing important documents and briefing papers for the Director and their role.
  • The Director’s work schedule should be planned and prioritised to achieve business results. Activities should be connected to foresee problems, risks, and strategies to minimise them.
  • Take the lead on ad hoc projects to assist the directorate’s efficient administration and leadership.
  • Perform MI/Data collection and analysis
  • On behalf of the Director, organise forums, steering groups, and meetings. You should also serve as the secretariat to make sure that recommendations are followed through on and actions are carried out.
  • To guarantee alignment with the broader agenda and corporate aims, take personal responsibility for influencing activity outside of your direct area of authority.
  • Participate actively in the larger Executive Support team, taking advantage of chances to exchange expertise and establish a solid reputation in the community.
