There is a fantastic opportunity to join the Lung Cancer Nurse Specialist (LCNS) team as a Support Worker. A well-established, sizable LCNS staff and administrative coordinators will assist and collaborate with you. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with a lung cancer MDT.

Principal responsibilities of the position

Band 6/7 and administrative support make up the Lung Cancer Nurse Specialist (LCNS) team.

Working together with consultants, nurses, and administrative staff from several directorates, we are a part of a larger multidisciplinary team (MDT) that comprises the entire lung cancer team. Wherever the patient needs us, the LCNS and the support worker will cover the entire pathway. Since the LCNS and the support worker are the only ones who see patients with lung cancer throughout their entire journey, communication and documentation must be excellent. Patients with lung cancer may move between specialities frequently due to additional co-morbidities.

Offering and performing Holistic Needs Assessments is the main responsibility of your position. at order to provide a phone clinic, you will meet patients at the clinic. In a telephone clinic, it will be your responsibility to address their issues and finalise referrals. This is a place where patients can express their worries outside of the hospital.
