1. Clinical Support Worker: UK Sponsorship Available

  • Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust
  • Manchester, United Kingdom
  • Accepting applications until: 08-Oct-2025 23:59

Overview of the Job

Our Community Liver Health Checks program’s Clinical Support Workers assist with the launch of a novel pilot initiative that offers community screening for cirrhosis in individuals in hard-to-reach groups. Through cirrhosis screening and liver health interventions, this research seeks to identify individuals who are currently utilising local alcohol and drug programs or other community services. Supporting patients to attend screening and offering direct patient incentives to promote screening attendance are the goals of this research.

The Greater Manchester Viral Hepatitis Operational Delivery Network (ODN) will strategically organise the community outreach efforts. The position holder will collaborate closely with the MRI Hepatology Service and the Infectious Diseases outreach service at community sites.

Principal responsibilities of the position

In addition to working operationally with the Operational Delivery Network for Greater Manchester and Eastern Cheshire, the position will be community-based, with a base at Manchester Royal Infirmary.

Blood tests, fibroscans (a type of ultrasound used to evaluate liver health; comprehensive training will be provided), results delivery, and interacting with patients who are found to be cirrhotic in order to persuade them to attend additional hospital screenings and provide them with health promotion guidance are all part of the job description. The position holder will collaborate closely with our primary care, probation, drug, and homelessness colleagues. Programs with current peer support systems offered by those organisations and the nonprofit sector will fall under this category.

3. 16 to 25 Community Mental Health Link Worker: UK Sponsorship Available

  • West London NHS Trust
  • London, United Kingdom
  • Accepting applications until: 06-Oct-2025 23:59

Overview of the Job

Within the Hammersmith and Fulham Mental Health Integrated Network Teams (MINT), a fantastic opportunity has emerged for a competent and motivated 16 to 25 Community Mental Health Link Worker.

We are looking to hire people who are passionate about empowering and supporting young people on their recovery journeys, have a solid understanding of mental illness, and possess exceptional communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. We are searching for highly driven, passionate, and compassionate people who can give our service users the best care possible while being patient and compassionate.

A vision for delivering services in local settings that better matched the needs of the local people was outlined in the 2019 community mental health framework for adults and older persons. One of the few test sites, West London NHS Trust, has created a novel new service called Mental Health Integrated Network Teams (MINT), which provides service users with more needs-based, episodic interventions that are integrated with primary care.

One of MINT’s primary specialities will be Link Work, which will be in charge of recovery-focused interventions that utilise both the multidisciplinary team’s and the community’s resources.

Principal responsibilities of the position

You will be essential in helping young people who are struggling with their mental health find services and support in the community. As a Link Worker, your areas of expertise will be directing and assisting with referrals to the right community resources, encouraging independence and self-reliance, building on the person’s strengths, helping them acquire skills and confidence in jointly determined areas of support, and raising concerns when they come up.

You’ll feel at ease working both independently and with people from various backgrounds. To adjust to working in a constantly changing workplace, you’ll need to be resilient, driven, and dedicated.

You will also work closely with CAMHS to support youth in accessing essential community services and facilitating a seamless transition into adult services as the role progresses.
