House and Kitchen | Abernethy Nethy Bridge/Barcaple | International Volunteer
Live-in, full-time, permanent contract
Location: Aberenthy Barcaple, Dumfries & Galloway, DG7 2AP or Abernethy Nethy Bridge, Inverness-shire, PH25 3ED
Date of Start: Immediate

Important roles

To help with the meal preparation and service for both employees and visitors.
To perform maintenance and cleaning tasks in order to keep the centre hygienic and functional.

Duties and Responsibilities

To help with kitchen tasks, serve meals, and prepare food as directed by the hospitality manager
To efficiently arrange and run the washroom and servery in compliance with regulations.
To maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the kitchen, servery, and dining area.
To guarantee that plans for lunch and coffee breaks are made to accommodate staff needs.
To uphold a high quality of food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness in the kitchen while, when needed, training team members.
Must stay current on the documentation and documentation related to catering.
Should possess a practical understanding of COSHH and pertinent health and safety laws.
To help make sure that the house and other spaces are orderly and clean, and that the rooms are ready for visitors when they arrive.
Must have a flexible work style, helping out in other departments when needed, and performing general duties as needed in the course of daily centre operations, such as maintenance.
To be accountable for your own and others’ health and safety while performing your duties on a daily basis, while adhering to your training and using common sense.
As stated in this job description, you are accountable to your manager for any issues related to health, safety, and training, including disclosing informal risk assessments.
To discuss issues as they come up with the food services manager or head housekeeper.
To actively participate in the Center’s spiritual life and work, including “Explore,” morning reading, team fellowships, and other events; this includes serving in the local church as a branch of the Center’s ministry.
Because of the nature of the position, the holder must be a devout and active Christian. As stated in schedule 9 of the Equalities Act of 2010, this is a Genuine Occupational Requirement.
