Overview of the Job
At St. Michael’s Hospital in Hayle, we are seeking a qualified Therapy Technician to join our vibrant inpatient therapy team. We would be interested in speaking with you if you have prior experience working in an acute therapy team in either occupational therapy or physiotherapy.
Working three days a week, the position is part-time. You should ideally be accessible from Wednesday through Friday, but we can talk about this. Additionally, you will be included in the weekend schedule, for which you will receive time off in exchange.
The position includes a telephone-based pre-admission clinic and two in-patient wards with an adult elective orthopaedic workload. As part of this duty, we also conduct daily pre-operative Joint Schools. You could occasionally be required to conduct house visits as well.
You must hold an NVQ Level IIl in Health Care and have prior experience working in a therapeutic setting. Within the parameters of the Therapy Technician position, you must be able to work autonomously without direct supervision while also receiving guidance from team members who are competent. Additionally, you will need to be able to prioritise projects, manage your time well, and take initiative when needed to finish tasks.
Principal responsibilities of the position
To promote the growth of therapy services by helping therapists with patient assessment and treatment as well as the daily operations of the therapy setting.
to take up a caseload of patients that have been referred by a therapist. Observe patient progress, treat patients in accordance with established treatment protocols, and modify patient treatment plans as necessary (within the parameters of the protocols and scope of practice).
Report patient progress and any issues to the therapist while working alone on a frequent basis.
To conduct patient assessments using investigative and analytical skills for a specific and assigned set of patients. to create treatment plans by applying clinical reasoning and a variety of evaluation and treatment techniques.
