There are false rumours circulating on some social media channels, that NARIC (ECCTIS) Visas & Nationality statements won’t be valid after 7 August. These rumours are not true. There are no changes to Visas & Nationality statements and no changes in how they work for visa applications. Please see the screenshot of ECCTIS.

What is NARIC? So NARIC is the National Academic Recognition Center and is the national agency responsible for providing official information on international education, training, and skills acquired outside the UK.
what changed after Brexit? Did ECCTIS replace NARIC?
After Brexit, the UK is not using the NARIC website anymore. And hence from the first of Jan 2021, instead of the old NARIC website, you will have to access the new website called ECCTIS (https://www.ecctis.com/).
What services they provide?
They provide Visas and Nationality Services which supports you if you need to evidence the level of your degrees and or your English Language proficiency. For the UK Home Office. These services are for you if you’re applying for one of the following visas. A route like tier two skilled worker visa, health and Care Skill Visa, Startup Visa Innovator visa Minister of Religion visa family including spouse visa and settlement or Citizenship or Naturalization.
How it works?
There are three Visas and Nationality Services available.
First is visas and nationality. English proficiency.
Second is visas and nationality. PhD verification.
And third, is visas and nationality. PhD verification.
With English Proficiency, you can use this service based on your need. Now, let’s see the detail now. So, if you would like to use your Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degrees to demonstrate the level of your qualification and your English proficiency for a UK visa application, you should use Visas and Nationality Service English Proficiency. For this service, they only assess qualifications that are considered comparable to a Bachelor, Master or a PhD degree in the UK and were taught in English.
They compare your University higher education degree to the standard of Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in the UK. This is the academic qualification level statement (AQUALS). Once they have received all the required documents and payment, they will complete your assessments within ten working days. If you have a deadline, you can use their 24 to 48-hour Fast Track service.
Now. Number two, if you use your Ph.D. to qualify for Tradable Points for the Skilled Worker Visa, you need to use Visas and Nationality Service Ph.D. verification for this service. They only assess qualifications that are considered comparable to a Ph.D. degree in the UK. They provide a statement confirming that your Ph.D. is comparable to the standard of a Ph.D. in the UK. So they will check and confirm if the degree is genuine by contacting your institution. And during the application process, they will ask you to complete and sign a letter of authorization. This allows them to contact your institution to verify your degree, and once they have received all the necessary documents and payment, they will complete your assessment within 30 working days.
Number three, if you would like to use your Ph.D. to qualify for Tradable Points for the Skilled Worker Route and demonstrate your English proficiency for a UK visa application, you need to use Visas and Nationality Service Ph.D. Verification with English Proficiency. So the only difference between the last service and this is that they do an additional check for your English. If your degree was not studied in a majority English-speaking country, they will confirm the level of your English language proficiency based on your qualification. And according to the common European Framework of Reference for Languages, which is CEFR. This is the English Language Proficiency Statement ELPS. And if your Ph.D. degree was not taught in English, but you have another degree that was taught in English, for example. Bachelor’s or master’s degree. They may be able to provide the AQUALS and ELPS for your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, provided they meet the requirements of the service.
How to apply?
You need to apply online for the Visas and Nationality Service via this link https://www.ecctis.com/.So step one is of course, you need to register a new account through the link. And then step two is when you have registered, you will receive an acknowledgment email containing a link and the email will be from ECCTIS Registration. Step three is to click the link to activate your account and then you need to log into your account using your email address and password. And when you log in, you’ll be asked, what will you do with the certificate? So the options on the screen would be

I’m applying for a job in the UK.

Home Office to move or settle in the UK. I have qualifications from the UK. So select option two or three based on your need. It will take you to the application form, which you need to start filling now and check the requirements carefully, and upload your photographs, and scans your documents. And of course, the last step, submit the form.
What documents are needed?
Depending on the service you require, they may ask you to present different documents. How much does it cost?
Now let’s look at the prices for Visas and Nationality Service English Proficiency, it cost 140 pounds plus the VAT. For Visas and Nationality Service. Ph.D. verification and Ph.D. verification. With English proficiency. It costs 210 pounds plus VAT.

1. How long is the UK NARIC valid for?
The UK NARIC certificate is valid for a lifetime. Therefore, once you have paid and obtained your certificate, you will not need to pay for another one unless you lose it.

3. How do I contact NARIC?

4. NARIC certificate required for ILR?
After six April 2016, all visa and ILR applicants must have their non-British qualifications certified by NARIC to show they are equivalent to British standards. Without this certificate and evidence, your ILR or visa application will be rejected.
5. How will I receive my certificate or assessment by NARIC?
It will be via post in the paper format.
6. How long does it take for my certificate to come after submitting my application?
So ten days is their normal time frame. But you can also fast-track your application by paying extra money.
7. How many degrees or qualifications can I upload?
For Visas and Nationality Service they only look at the Higher Education University qualifications so make sure you submit that.
8. Who uses or needs NARIC?
So any individual coming to the UK to work or study should really get an SoC which is called a Statement of Comparative. It ensures that an individual’s qualifications are understood, so SoCs are a key tool in facilitating mobility. The recognition given by UK NARIC helps assure quality associated with an award and safeguard standards.
9. Do I need a UK narrative statement comparatively in terms of applying for work or study in the UK?
it’s not mandatory. A statement of comparatively is not a compulsory document for work or study in the UK, some of the employees may not ask for it, although the organization can insist on an individual with international qualifications obtaining this document as part of their application procedures.
10. What happens if my certificates or degree can’t be compared?
So in the event that UK NARIC is unable to provide a statement of comparability due to missing documentation, you’ll be given three months to provide the necessary information. In the event that a comparison is not possible, a refund can be provided, there will be a small administrative charge or fee as outlined in their terms and condition.
