You may be assigned to the Glenfield Hospital or Leicester Royal Infirmary, but you may also have the chance to work at the Leicester General Hospital. You will be a member of a sizable, vibrant, and amiable Dietetic and Nutrition team. To enable you to do so, we offer complimentary hospital transportation.
Acute medicine, general medicine, infectious diseases, diabetes, spinal surgery, gynaecology surgery, urology surgery, trauma and orthopaedics, cardiorespiratory, thoracic, vascular, and care of the elder|y are just a few of the acute inpatient wards and units that you may encounter.
Principal responsibilities of the position
Additionally, you will have the chance to participate in structured patient education sessions, outpatient clinics, and training for healthcare professionals. Additionally, there will be the chance to participate on our social media channels and create patient information materials.

Duties of the job
- To guarantee that, within the scope of the position, patients, clients, and medical professionals have access to relevant, best practice, and evidence-based guidance on nutrition and dietetic matters.
- As part of the Leicestershire Nutrition and Dietetic Professional Network, to provide nutrition and diet-related literature and resources while making sure they are impartial, evidence-based, and best practices.
- The capacity to use education and communication skills to help patients with impairments (such as severe communication issues or learning disabilities) who might find it difficult to comprehend nutrition therapy.
- Should uphold and exhibit a personal growth plan in order to guarantee ongoing career advancement.

Individual Specifications
Qualifications and Training
Essential
- A two-year postgraduate degree in nutrition and dietetics or a four-year undergraduate degree
- UK-registered dietitian or one who is awaiting registration with the Health Professions Council
Experience
Essential
- Experience dealing directly with the public in a job
- Experience working in a compassionate setting
- Experience in providing general diet, nutrition, and food recommendations
- Has acquired expertise in various caseload and workload management techniques while providing services.
- Possesses the necessary expertise and aptitude to interact with people, managing challenging enquiries while applying empathy and listening techniques.
