We are looking for a caring and driven Housing Support Worker to join our team. This person will help adults who are homeless or have complicated needs find and keep safe and stable housing.
This is a fantastic job where you deal directly with tenants in the neighbourhood. You will help people in need with both practical and emotional issues, write support plans, and make sure that properties and renters are always in good shape.
Main Duties
Help individuals who are homeless and have complicated needs, such as mental illness, drug abuse, a history of crime, or a dual diagnosis, in a way that is centred on them.
Do full support assessments and make support plans that are specific to each person.
Keep support packets and case records up to date and review them often to make sure they meet organisational and legal standards.
Do property visits, inspections for compliance, and checks on people’s well-being.
Help tenants keep their homes, make budgets, collect benefits, and learn how to live on their own.
Talk to outside organisations and professionals, such as local governments, mental health services, probation, and health care providers.
Protect adults who are at risk and report any worries in the right way.
Keep correct, private records and turn in all needed reports.
Follow the rules and policies of your organization, as well as health and safety rules and procedures for keeping people safe.
Take part in training, team meetings, and supervision.
Working alone in the community when needed.
What you need
Important:
At least two years of experience working with vulnerable adults, homeless people, or people with complex needs.
Experience in planning support and assessing risks.
A strong grasp of professional limits and keeping people safe.
Ability to handle a case load on your own.
Good at talking and writing.
Knowledge of computers (case management systems, Microsoft Office).
A full UK driving licence and a car (if the job requires it).
Want:
A Level 3 certification in Health and Social Care (or something similar).
Knowledge of laws about housing and how to handle a rental property.
Experience working in floating support services or assisted housing.
