Job Summary – Healthcare Assistant / Carer Driver

In accordance with best practices and legal regulations, the Healthcare Assistant/Carer Driver’s job is to create, manage, and offer the Service Users a professional and efficient care service. Under the guidance of the Senior Carer/Care Coordinator, the healthcare assistant must always adhere to the policies, procedures, and standards. The role is multifaceted and encompasses a wide range of aspects outside the daily care of our clients, such as but not restricted to:

• Providing person-centred care that is specific to each service user while assisting and empowering them to keep their abilities and interests.

• Participate in the training and development that is occasionally necessary to maintain and advance knowledge in order to keep abilities up to date.

• Visiting customers in their homes to offer assistance and care.

⭐ Primary Duties

• Make sure service users’ desires and preferences improve their well-being and that they are at the centre of care delivery;
• To assist service users in all facets of daily life so they can have as fulfilling a life as possible;
• Make sure you carry out your responsibilities with dedication and care, always acting with the utmost honesty;
• Make sure that care plans and other guidelines for assisting service users are adhered to;
• Be in charge of notifying the manager and care coordinator of any modifications to the service users’ needs;
• Uphold the company’s principles and objectives in whatever you do, making sure that all internal and legal regulations pertaining to your position are followed to the fullest extent possible;
• Cultivate productive working connections with other staff members;
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to optimise possibilities for all individuals;
• Medicine administration and diabetes care (including insulin delivery and blood glucose monitoring);
• As specified in their care plan, support and assist service users in completing daily tasks such as eating, dressing, grooming, bathing, catheter care, stoma care, and using the restroom;
• Behaviour control, manual labour, The capacity to employ a hoist
• Inform the family members of service users of any issues, worries, or modifications as necessary;

• The majority of staff members would work alone in the service user’s home;
• This crucial position requires compassion, effective communication, and a composed and considerate demeanour;
• Seek and seize chances for learning and development on both a personal and professional level, with a dedication to obtaining the appropriate credentials needed for the position;
• Serve as an ambassador for the service and a role model for other healthcare assistants;
• Always act with professionalism, courtesy, and reason;
• Participate in all required training as well as any additional instruction given by management;
• Adherence to and comprehension of all rules and regulations pertinent to your position.
• Competency Required: If necessary, training is available.

⭐ Educational Background & Credentials

• RQF in Social Care

• Excellent writing abilities

• Strong communication abilities

• Prior experience providing domiciliary care

• Prior experience in a comparable position

• Experience assisting service users, especially those who might have complicated needs.

• Current, required training (training may be offered)

• DBS update service

• Complete driver’s license in the UK

• Have a car and be a driver
