🧩 Main Duties
Help with personal care tasks like washing, bathing, dressing, going to the restroom and taking care of incontinence.
Help in getting about, moving, and using mobility aids
Help with taking medicine according to care plans and corporate rules
Make meals and help with food and water needs
Do household chores including shopping, doing laundry, and minor cleaning.
Be there for them emotionally and as a friend
Follow the personalised care and support plans exactly
Watch, keep an eye on, and report any changes in the health or well-being of service consumers.
Keep proper records and documents every day.
Always encourage freedom, choice, and respect.
Protect adults who are at risk and tell someone right away if you have any concerns.
Follow the CQC standards, health and safety rules, and infection control rules at work.
Talk to service users, their families, and healthcare experts in a clear way.
🧠 Skills and Experience
Important:
Experience working in home care or social care
A kind, trustworthy, and polite way of doing things
Being able to work alone and use time wisely
Being able to speak and write English well
Willingness to go to the homes of service users
📘 Skills and Knowledge
Understanding of care that focuses on the individual
Understanding how to protect adults
A basic grasp of dementia, learning difficulties, or long-term illnesses
Ability to follow risk assessments and care plans
🕒 Conditions of Work
Working in the homes of service users as part of a community-based role
Work shifts that include evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
Working alone with help from management and personnel who are on call
