Job Summary – Roofing Labourer

The Roofer is in charge of doing roofing installations, maintenance, and repairs on all residential homes under the Housing Association’s management. In order to give residents safe and secure homes, the position makes sure that all roofing projects are finished safely, effectively, and to a high standard.

Important Duties of Roofing Labourer

• Perform emergency, reactive, and scheduled roofing repairs on houses owned by housing associations.

• Pitched, flat, tiled, slate, felt, and membrane roofs are among the roofing systems that can be installed, maintained, and repaired.

• Examine roofs to find flaws, water intrusion, structural problems, or hazards to health and safety.

• Complete repairs for guttering, fascia, soffits, flashing, pointing, and rainwater items.

• When necessary, replace damaged roofing sheets, felt covers, tiles, and slates.

• Make ensuring that every work complies with organisational standards, safety laws, and construction restrictions.

• Give precise information on the job done, the materials utilised, and any additional steps that need to be taken.

• Tenant repair requests should be handled promptly and properly.

• To provide effective service, collaborate closely with the housing, maintenance, and repairs departments.

• Keep corporate cars, tools, and equipment in good operating order.

• Always abide by the company’s regulations, protection requirements, and tenant care protocols.

Qualifications & Skills

• Roofing NVQ Level 2 or Level 3, or a comparable trade qualification, is preferred.

• Shown experience as a roofer, preferably in residential maintenance or social housing.

• Familiarity with flat and pitched roofing systems.

• Knowledge of health and safety standards, notably those pertaining to operating at heights.

• The capacity to identify roofing issues and suggest suitable fixes.

• Complete UK driver’s license (needed).

• CSCS card (ideal).
