Overview
To join our team, we are looking for a dedicated and caring healthcare assistant. In this position, you will be responsible for giving patients vital support in a range of settings, such as home care settings and assisted living facilities. Assisting people with their everyday tasks while maintaining their comfort and wellbeing and following care plans will be your main priority. People with excellent communication skills and a sincere desire to improve the lives of others are most suited for this role.
Responsibilities
- Help patients with personal care activities like grooming, clothing, and bathing.
- Assist people with activities of daily living, such as feeding and meal preparation.
- Assist in keeping the patient area hygienic and secure.
- As instructed by medical personnel, adhere to care plans and report any changes in the patient’s condition.
- To guarantee continuity of care, communicate clearly with patients, families, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Accurately record patient progress and any pertinent data in compliance with organisational guidelines.
- Take part in training courses to improve your patient care knowledge and abilities.
Skills
- Proficiency in written and spoken English is necessary for efficient communication with coworkers and patients.
- Fundamental IT abilities for reporting and documentation.
- For jobs requiring travel between sites, a valid driver’s license is preferred.
- While not required, prior experience in a home care or assisted living facility is beneficial.
- Knowledge of care plans and the capacity to adhere to them precisely.
- Proficiency in interpersonal skills, including the capacity to empathise and establish a personal connection with patients.
