The Role
Social Care Alba is seeking a personal assistant or support worker to provide daily care, providing outcome-based, individualised care that enables clients to lead active, fulfilling lives.
You will support people and their families both physically and emotionally. to promote independence by conducting oneself with respect and dignity.
Providing assistance to clients, such as helping with:
- Being an advocate and a key worker.
- Moving, helping, and providing catheter care.
- Promotion of human rights and equality.
- Shopping, cooking, and social visits.
- Reporting mishaps, grievances, or events.
- Medication, dressings, and encouragement of continence.
Managing personal workload, including:
- Entering and exiting each visit.
- Participating in and attending meetings.
- Updating digital documents, such daily notes.
- Keeping up on SCA policy and care laws.
- Taking part in all pertinent training and development courses.
Requirements
Qualifications for the position of Personal Assistant/Support Worker:
Experience in a similar job for at least two years is preferred.
It is preferred to have an SVQ 2 or higher in health or social care.
Outstanding: Caring, reliable, and trustworthy
Excellent: Pays attention to details.
Planning and time management are good.
Good: Capable of working independently and pro-actively.
Effective communication with various audiences.
Basic: An understanding of safety and health.
Basic: Knowledge of best practices in health and social care.
Having the following experience is advantageous: Social worker, caseworker, home carer, care assistant, social worker
