You’ll work closely with clients, giving them the support they need to feel safe, comfortable and respected every day. Your efforts, whether it’s helping with everyday tasks or providing emotional support, will encourage clients to live fulfilling lives in their own familiar environments.
Duties
Good communication skills with service users, families and health care professionals
Ability to implement care plans and support with daily living activities
Supervise and assist residents with personal care tasks
Ability to drive residents to appointments or outings when required
Ability to maintain a safe and clean environment within their own home
Demonstrate leadership skills when interacting with service users and colleagues
Experience
Previous experience preferred but training given
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong interpersonal skills and empathy toward service users
Knowledge of best practices and procedures in caregiving, We treat the service users and their family’s like a family member. we don’t just look after the service users we also help the family’s as sometimes it may be a hard and stressful time with the not knowing.
Prerequisites
Previous experience in a nursing home or home care setting OR proven experience in assisted living
Understanding of patient care approaches such as Alzheimer’s, dementia, hospice and senior care
Ability to lift large objects when necessary for client mobility or equipment handling
First aid certification or willingness to be trained upon hire
Valid driving licence with a clean driving record for driving tasks.
Excellent communication and empathy and strong caregiving skills
Ability to work varied shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends or overnight shifts as required
