Overview of the Job
To join our team, we are looking for a committed and caring Community Care Worker. As part of this position, you will help people in home care and assisted living facilities with everyday tasks and make sure they are healthy. The ideal applicant will be able to collaborate with other healthcare professionals, have excellent communication skills, and be dedicated to providing high-quality treatment.
Responsibilities
- Help clients with everyday tasks like meal preparation, personal hygiene, and prescription administration.
- Work with clients and their families to create and carry out personalised care plans.
- Keep thorough notes of your clients’ progress and notify the proper staff of any changes in their behaviour or health.
- Encourage your customers’ freedom and dignity by creating a kind and encouraging environment for them.
- When necessary, drive clients to social events or appointments while making sure they are safe.
- Make use of IT solutions to efficiently organise schedules and record the care given.
- To improve your abilities, take part in professional development programs and training courses.
Qualifications
- While not required, prior experience in a home care or assisted living facility is preferred.
- To communicate with consumers and team members effectively, one must be proficient in English.
- strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to establish a connection with customers from a variety of backgrounds.
- It is beneficial to have experience creating care plans.
- When transporting clients as part of your job, it is preferable to have a current driver’s license.
- It is crucial to be dedicated to offering person-centred, empathetic care.
