The position of Cancer Care Coordinator in the Lung Cancer Nursing team at Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Trust is open to applications. Monday through Friday, full time.In order to assist the lung cancer team in coordinating the cancer patient journey, this crucial job is necessary. By actively managing the patient pathway to guarantee that patients receive their treatment in a timely and effective manner, you will play a crucial role in guaranteeing that cancer criteria are fulfilled. To arrange appointments, investigations, and treatment, this will entail communicating with the clinical and administrative staff at the Trust as well as tertiary facilities.

Principal responsibilities of the position
- Engage in patient and public outreach initiatives to raise awareness of the service, such as awareness-raising events and promotions held off-site.
- As needed, present at or attend regional and local cancer conferences.
- Plan the day’s operations, including scheduling meetings, reserving rooms, and answering emails.
- Assure oneself and others that policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines are followed.
- Collaborate with other coordinators in the area to implement best practices.
- Utilise computer programs and databases to create and preserve records and produce statistics for analysis.
- In order to provide seamless assistance for individuals, coordinate the handover with other teams to provide a safe and efficient movement of care between services.
- Keep track of and document every facet of service delivery and care coordination, assisting with data collecting for audits.

Person Specification
Qualifications, Specific Experience & Training
Essential
- Health or social care NVQ level 3–4 qualification or comparable experience
- Five GCSEs, including English and maths, with a C or higher
- Outstanding keyboard and computer abilities, ECDL or equivalent, and mastery of Microsoft Office
Desirable
- Training in communication skills
- Qualifications for counselling
- Course on Basic Cancer
- Additional instruction in short courses leading to a foundation degree, diploma, or equivalent
- Knowledge of managing a patient’s burden
