An amazing opportunity for a Senior Health Care Support Worker has arisen within the Cardiology Ward at the Royal Hospital for Children.

We are searching for a passionate, highly motivated, dynamic and personable person with good communication and interpersonal skills who is willing to undertake continual development.

All roles will be considered for sponsorship eligibility against current Home Office regulations. Only once these have been satisfied may NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS)

Length of time, Place and Way of working:

This is a part time role for 34.5hrs

7 days rotating dayshifts and nightshifts are your working hours

This role will be based at the Royal Hospital for Children

Please note that the compensation is Pro Rata for part time hours.

Main duties:

Work in unit 1E, a 14 bedded inpatient unit offering national cardiology treatment for children and young people across Scotland, enabling the multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality patient care.

Knowledge, training, credentials and/or experience necessary to perform the job:

SVQ Level 3 or equivalent award

Basic reading, writing, and maths

Past experience with children

Great communication, interpersonal and organisational skills

Willing to train and become proficient in 6 months in:

Vital Signs Recording

Care of Pressure Areas

Nasogastric Feeding

Feeding through a gastrostomy

Handling by hand

We are hiring prison guards to cover openings at HMP Leeds in the future, in addition to officers who are currently needed. We are recruiting under this special futures scheme, which promises you a prison officer post at HMP Leeds permanently, but during the first 23 months of service, you will work at HMP Whitemoor. Journey to Work

Since some prisons are located in remote areas with few public transportation choices, having a driver’s license and own vehicle is advantageous but not necessary for the position (unless otherwise noted). Please be aware that the start and end times of your shifts are set, and it is your obligation to be at work and leave on time. The Helena Specialist Nursing Team provides care for children and young people in community settings including the homes of patients and school settings.

Ryegate House is a six-bedded facility providing 24 hour nursing care and brief holidays for children and young adults (0-19 years) with complicated neurological health issues.

As a member of the Team, you’ll deliver personalised, high-quality care in homes, schools and our facilities, providing families with safe and caring respite.

About the Position

It is a terrific opportunity to develop your specialist abilities around things like tracheostomy and ventilation and get some experience teaching in the community and organisation.

You will support daily line management, providing compassionate care to palliative patients and their family and service expansion.

You will also become an expert in areas such as sepsis, infection management and tissue viability.

The Nursing Associate works autonomously in the domain of nursing care and in all parts of the nursing process under the direction of registered nurses.

Key Responsibilities

You will have some of the below responsibilities reporting into the Matron:

• The Nursing Associate will work collaboratively with the multi professional team and the Registered Nurse to assess, plan, coordinate and deliver clinical care in line with service and patient needs, as agreed with supervisory clinicians
• The Nursing Associate is independent in their work, but is supervised by registered nurses
• They work within the field of nursing care and in all elements of the nursing process
• The postholder will at all times behave professionally and use their expertise and experience to make evidence based judgements to tackle challenges and difficulties
• They labour within the limitations of their competence and are responsible and accountable for what they do
• The job holder will have some responsibility for supervising learners i.e. new starts and students throughout their placements once their preceptorship is completed and they have completed any additional training required for their area
• They will be required to take an active role in quality assurance processes and service improvement

To be a jail officer you will need to:

be 18 years old before you begin work

All those training as a jail officer must have hearing to an acceptable standard (without the use of hearing aids) for safety reasons.

Tattoos are allowed, even visible tattoos, as long as they are not perceived as disrespectful, discriminatory, aggressive or menacing in any way. Facial tattoos are normally prohibited, unless they are for cultural, religious or medical reasons.

Commute to Work

All compensation statistics listed include any additional allowances relevant for the role/location.

Prisons are open all the time. This means you’ll need to work a variety of shift patterns including evenings, some nights, weekends and public holidays (these days are added to your holiday allowance). Most jails work on a shifting shift plan, 39 hours a week.

You may also have the chance to work extra paid hours.
