About the Opportunity:

As Project Manager in Arden University’s Student Systems & Development team you will be a major player in the delivery of technological and business change initiatives supporting every stage of the student journey. You will work across a diverse range of IT and business sponsored projects, ensuring solutions are delivered on schedule, under budget and to the best quality, delivering concrete benefits to students, staff and the wider University.

You will drive projects from idea through to successful delivery, working with cross-functional teams of Business Analysts, Software Developers, technical specialists, academics and professional services colleagues. You’ll be the key point of coordination, bringing together people, processes and technology to create change that is consistent with the University’s strategic aims.

You’ll work directly with programme managers and senior stakeholders to convert wider enterprise transformation into deliverable initiatives for the Student Systems & Development team, ensuring projects are properly prioritised, planned and integrated into ongoing business activity. Your governance will be explicit, you will manage risks and dependencies and keep in regular contact through progress reporting, stakeholder involvement and solution demos.

You will be responsible for the full project lifecycle, including initial business analysis and requirements scoping, testing, deployment, go-live and handover to business-as-usual support. Your efforts will ensure the continued evolution of important student systems, underpinning the reliability of fundamental services that support admissions, enrolment, timetabling, graduation and the broader student experience.

About You:

Key skills / experience:

• Formal Project Management qualification such as PRINCE2, PMI, Agile, Scrum, ISEB or PPM.
• Proven track in delivering complex IT projects across several technological domains including business applications, infrastructure, integrations and data and analytics.
• Proven track record of leading business and technology change efforts in complex enterprises.
• Experience in applying a range of project delivery methodologies with strong project and change management expertise.
• Experience in managing projects over the complete project life cycle from inception and planning through to implementation and hand over.
• Project budget, risk, dependency, resource and delivery management to agreed deadlines.
• Experience with project management systems such as Microsoft Project or Project Server.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex material and recommend solutions that work.
• Strong planning, prioritising and organising abilities and the capacity to manage several competing priorities.
• Excellent stakeholder management, persuading and negotiation abilities, building effective partnerships across technical and non-technical teams.
• Excellent written and vocal communication abilities with the ability to convey complicated material to a range of audiences in a clear and concise manner.
• Strong customer focus with a dedication to the delivery of high quality services and beneficial stakeholder results.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate work of cross-functional teams to achieve effective project objectives.
• Ability to work on own initiative, use judgement and share expertise to encourage colleagues and continual progress.
• Good awareness of key governance, legal and regulatory requirements related to delivery of the project.
• Understanding of Project Management Office (PMO) governance, standards and best practice.

Desirable skills/experience:

• Familiarity with Student Information Systems (SIS/SRS) preferably including Tribal SITS, as well as relational databases and API/middleware connections.
• Experience in the Higher Education industry would be an advantage.

Summary

We need a Business Analyst to help the business and technology teams make changes. The job is to get, define, record, and manage requirements across the whole delivery lifecycle, making sure that solutions provide demonstrable value and meet user expectations.

Main duties

Lead the gathering of requirements through workshops, interviews, process walk-throughs, and document reviews.

Turn needs into epics, user stories, and criteria for acceptance.

Make analytical artefacts such AS-IS and TO-BE process maps, gap analysis, business rules, workflows, and data definitions.

Keep track of requirements; help with change control and effect assessment

Work in Agile and/or Waterfall delivery settings (ceremonies, backlog refining, and aligning stakeholders)

Support UAT by setting up scenarios, handling triage, and checking results against acceptance criteria.

Help make the implementation ready by providing training materials, handing over operations, and doing an evaluation after the implementation.

Necessary skills and experience

Proven experience as a Business Analyst making changes to processes, digital systems, data, or systems

Strong communication and management skills with both technical and non-technical audiences

Strong ability in writing requirements documents, such as user stories, functional and non-functional requirements, and acceptance criteria

A strong ability to analyse analytically, pay attention to details, and focus on quality

Have worked closely with the Product, Engineering, QA, and Operations teams

Nice to have

Experience working in regulated settings, like healthcare or the public sector

Knowing how to use data and reporting tools like Excel and SQL/Power BI is a plus when it’s needed.

Knowledge of the healthcare field or appropriate certificates

Ideal Candidate

We want someone who is structured, enthusiastic, trustworthy and can take initiative. The selected applicant will feel comfortable moving between office duties, client communication and construction sites.

Good proficiency in English, Microsoft Office and general computer skills are required. Experience with social media, digital marketing, Canva/video editing, websites, QuickBooks, construction or property management would be a bonus.

A full UK driving licence is extremely desirable/essential as the work requires travelling between clients, construction sites and suppliers.

Most importantly we need someone who can take responsibility of projects and get things done rather than wait for directions at every level.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement strategies to identify new markets and commercial prospects.

Build and maintain long-term connections with clients, partners and stakeholders.

Conduct market research to keep up with industry developments and competitor actions.

Craft attractive proposals and presentations based on customer needs.

Work with marketing and sales teams to generate leads and convert prospects into clients.

Utilise CRM software for sales funnel management, maintaining detailed records of all interactions and progress.

Negotiate contracts and close transactions successfully, creating win-win situations for all parties involved.

Track success metrics and create periodic reports on business development initiatives.

Attend industry conferences, events and networking activities to promote the organisation’s services.

Skills

Demonstrated experience in business development or sales jobs preferably in the appropriate industrial sector.

Strong knowledge of CRM software such as Salesforce or other equivalent platforms.

Excellent organisational skills and capacity to work on numerous tasks concurrently.

Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Strategic, proactive problem solver.

Ability to interpret market data and turn insights into meaningful plans.

Self motivated and driven to work towards aims and contribute to the growth of the organization.

Salary

£40,000 – £56,000 pa (depending on experience)

Golax Limited is a UK registered company specialising in the luxury goods retail industry. We source luxury products including watches and apparel items from internationally renowned brands such Rolex, Chanel and Louis Vuitton from approved UK stockists to sell or export these products to private clientele.

The majority of our customers are Chinese residents in the UK and Hong Kong.

Position

As Business Development Manager, you will be on the frontline of sourcing, customer engagement and export operations. You will be working with the Director, to grow our network of licensed UK dealers and to guarantee that our private clients in the UK and Hong Kong have a seamless buying experience.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Source luxury products (watches, fashion, accessories) from top brands’ approved UK merchants, negotiating allocation, pricing and authentication arrangements
• Build and sustain long term connections with UK supplier accounts via direct interfacing with brand boutiques and licensed reseller networks
• Manage unique client orders from first enquiry through to delivery, ensuring product specification, authenticity documentation and delivery timelines are met
• Work with private clients in the UK and Hong Kong to establish buying preferences, advise on product availability and offer discreet, high touch concierge service
• Export logistics and documentation including HMRC compliance, customs declarations, VAT retail export processes and goods forwarder liaison
• Maintain correct sales, purchase and customer records as per corporate policy and trade compliance requirements
• Watch luxury market trends, brand release schedules, and price changes for sourcing strategy
• Comply with UK trade and export control, anti-money laundering (AML) standards and HMRC obligations for high value goods

Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required

Key

• Bachelor or Master degree (or equivalent) in Business, Marketing or comparable subject
• Deep knowledge of luxury goods business (watches, high fashion)
• Deep insights into Chinese consumer trends and preferences in the luxury market
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities
• Fluent in written and spoken English, and Mandarin Chinese
• Excellent organising abilities and the capacity to manage various supplier and client relationships simultaneously

Desired

• Previous experience in luxury retail, e-commerce, cross border trading or similar client facing commercial job
• Knowledge of UK export documents, VAT retail export programs and HMRC compliance for high value items
• Built network within UK approved dealer and boutique channels

• Salary competitive £40,000 – £56,000 per annum depending on experience
