Housing Support Worker – Skilled Worker Visa Route

In situations where preventing homelessness is not feasible, Homelessness Service Teams offer short-term emergency assisted housing and then try to facilitate a prompt transition into permanent housing.

We are seeking a Housing Support Worker to assist clients in transitioning from transitional housing to more suitable and long-term housing. The private sector, social housing, and supported housing will all be options. For tenancies to be effective, it’s critical to make sure the proper continuing support is in place.

Apply if you have expertise working with vulnerable individuals, including families and singles, and the various problems they may encounter, such as mental and physical health, substance abuse, financial hardships, and domestic abuse. Knowledge of welfare benefits, experience working with many organisations, and strong communication skills are essential for this position.

Senior Business Support Assistant – Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS)

The Part

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Business Support Assistant to deliver a full range of administrative support services for a fixed term.

You will give business support to the Health Improvement Team who run the Employability Service delivered across four HSCP services ESTEEM, Family Nurse Partnership, Youth Health Service and the Social Work Intensive Monitoring Service.

All roles will be considered for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office standards. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only provide a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) if these are met.

Working Pattern: Location & Duration

This is a fixed term role till 31st March 2027.

You will be working part-time hours which are 18 hours each week. You will work these hours Monday to Friday from 0900 until 1700.

This role will be based at West House, Gartnavel General Hospital.

Please note remuneration is Pro Rata (for half time hours).

Main Responsibilities

You will provide administrative support to ensure the effective delivery of the Employability Service including supporting programme monitoring requirements, maintaining accurate data through the Hanlon Employability System and working closely with Employability Coaches to help deliver a comprehensive service.

The work comprises managing day to day administrative responsibilities, handling confidential information and queries, scheduling meetings, drafting agendas and taking correct minutes.

You will also be responsible for planning and arranging their workload efficiently, using problem-solving skills to handle competing priorities and deadlines whilst working cooperatively within a small team and a wider service network.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required

Proven experience in a business support or admin function.

HNC or SVQ Level 3 in a Business Support related topic or similar relevant experience.

Excellent organisation, planning and time management skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a larger team.

Proven ability to manage competing priorities and resolve difficulties effectively.

The post will look at different patterns of shift among a team of Clinical Support Workers and Registered Nurses. The position involves caring for very dependent children in their own homes.

About The Role:

We’re searching for someone to lead the Health and Safety management of our tenancy activities, ensuring our sites are safe for everyone who uses them. You will tackle all kinds of obstacles, assisting corporations in fields from biotech to energy to space.

You will report to the Head of Business Incubation at Daresbury and will work closely with The Facilities Manager at RAL and the STFC SHE Group. The STFC Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) group. There is a chance to both compliment and draw on the specific abilities and expertise within the team. This is an important job for the department and for STFC.

We are searching for senior specialists in SHE who have a documented track record of leadership and delivery of impact in specific area(s) of SHE management relevant to STFC operations.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee the delivery of effective, efficient and professional SHE services to STFC workers, contractors, renters, and visitors, ensuring compliance.
• Deliver timely professional SHE advice and guidance to renters and assist them to discharge their duty for the implementation of the STFC SHE Management System.
• Development and assessment of STFC’s tenant Health & Safety management systems and procedures using internal application experience, audit results, external best practice and legal changes detected through horizon scanning.
• All SHE occurrences including injuries, near misses, fires, environmental and vehicle mishaps will be recorded, investigated correctly and actions developed to limit the possibility of their repetition. Sharing learning across STFC where applicable.
• Assist in the planning and implementation of STFC specific on-line and face to face SHE training sessions for tenants.
• Attend and report to site, department and specialist Safety Committee meetings for BID.

Person Specification:

Shortlisting (S), Interview (I) or both (S&I) will score the below criteria.

• Degree or HND in a science or engineering discipline. (T)
• NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
• Professional or other equivalent qualification. (S,I)
• Proven expertise in delivering a SHE Advisory function in science, engineering or technology industries, with a wide working knowledge of current and upcoming changes to UK SHE legislation applicable to STFC. (S, I)
• Strong understanding of SHE management systems and safe systems of work. (I)
• Strong oral and written communication abilities with demonstrated strong interpersonal skills at all staff levels from Operator to Manager and Director. (I)
