Housing Support Worker – Skilled Worker Visa Route

In situations where preventing homelessness is not feasible, Homelessness Service Teams offer short-term emergency assisted housing and then try to facilitate a prompt transition into permanent housing.

We are seeking a Housing Support Worker to assist clients in transitioning from transitional housing to more suitable and long-term housing. The private sector, social housing, and supported housing will all be options. For tenancies to be effective, it’s critical to make sure the proper continuing support is in place.

Apply if you have expertise working with vulnerable individuals, including families and singles, and the various problems they may encounter, such as mental and physical health, substance abuse, financial hardships, and domestic abuse. Knowledge of welfare benefits, experience working with many organisations, and strong communication skills are essential for this position.

You must have lived in the UK for the previous three years in order to work in a high security prison (Category A).

Journey to Work

Since some prisons are located in remote areas with few public transportation choices, having a driver’s license and own vehicle is advantageous but not necessary for the position (unless otherwise noted). Please be aware that the start and end times of your shifts are set, and it is your obligation to be at work and leave on time. Pay

Starting Pay: £33,746 at HMP Whitemoor

Additionally, you will receive:

• For a maximum of 23 months, your lodging expenses (up to £750 per month) will be covered.

• One monthly journey home is required (deployed prison to permanent prison).

Prisons are open seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day. This implies that you will have to cover a variety of work patterns, such as weekends, public holidays, evenings, and some nights.

Job Main Duties

Successful applicants will:

• Undertake delegated care duties as directed by a registered healthcare professional e.g. recording Electrocardiogram, care of and removal of urine catheters, care of stomas, undertake simple wound dressings and wound inspection, removal of peripheral cannula.
• Chaperone as needed to support and prepare patients for/during medical interventions or procedures.
• Act in accordance with the principles of safeguarding children and adults. Report concerns immediately to the registered healthcare professional.
