We are interested in creating a new database management system for UniProt, one of the most widely used data repositories in biological science, and are searching for a database with a solid track record in database and software development. Our team is very dynamic and multidisciplinary, with eager and skilled bioinformaticians and software engineers collaborating closely with scientists and biologists. One of the most widely used protein databases in the world, UniProt serves a sizable and varied proteomics, proteins, and genomics research community.
You will be creating a new database management system and software for UniProt data as part of your everyday tasks. The UniProt database’s production software and database design, development, and maintenance will be your responsibility. Your clear, succinct, thoroughly tested, and documented code will have scalability as a key component. You’ve
- An education in computer science or a similar field
- A database developer who has worked professionally with database management systems for at least three years
