The Technology Department plays an essential part in ensuring Arden University offers an exceptional experience for our students and workers. About the Opportunity:
As Project Manager in Arden University’s Student Systems & Development team you will be a major player in the delivery of technological and business change initiatives supporting every stage of the student journey. You will work across a diverse range of IT and business sponsored projects, ensuring solutions are delivered on schedule, under budget and to the best quality, delivering concrete benefits to students, staff and the wider University.
You will drive projects from idea through to successful delivery, working with cross-functional teams of Business Analysts, Software Developers, technical specialists, academics and professional services colleagues. You’ll be the key point of coordination, bringing together people, processes and technology to create change that is consistent with the University’s strategic aims.
You’ll work directly with programme managers and senior stakeholders to convert wider enterprise transformation into deliverable initiatives for the Student Systems & Development team, ensuring projects are properly prioritised, planned and integrated into ongoing business activity. Your governance will be explicit, you will manage risks and dependencies and keep in regular contact through progress reporting, stakeholder involvement and solution demos.
You will be responsible for the full project lifecycle, including initial business analysis and requirements scoping, testing, deployment, go-live and handover to business-as-usual support. Your efforts will ensure the continued evolution of important student systems, underpinning the reliability of fundamental services that support admissions, enrolment, timetabling, graduation and the broader student experience.

About You:
Key skills / experience:
Formal Project Management qualification such as PRINCE2, PMI, Agile, Scrum, ISEB or PPM.
Proven track in delivering complex IT projects across several technological domains including business applications, infrastructure, integrations and data and analytics.
Proven track record of leading business and technology change efforts in complex enterprises.
Experience in applying a range of project delivery methodologies with strong project and change management expertise.
Experience in managing projects over the complete project life cycle from inception and planning through to implementation and hand over.
Project budget, risk, dependency, resource and delivery management to agreed deadlines.
Experience with project management systems such as Microsoft Project or Project Server.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex material and recommend solutions that work.
Strong planning, prioritising and organising abilities and the capacity to manage several competing priorities.
Excellent stakeholder management, persuading and negotiation abilities, building effective partnerships across technical and non-technical teams.
Excellent written and vocal communication abilities with the ability to convey complicated material to a range of audiences in a clear and concise manner.
Strong customer focus with a dedication to the delivery of high quality services and beneficial stakeholder results.
Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate work of cross-functional teams to achieve effective project objectives.
Ability to work on own initiative, use judgement and share expertise to encourage colleagues and continual progress.
Good awareness of key governance, legal and regulatory requirements related to delivery of the project.
Understanding of Project Management Office (PMO) governance, standards and best practice.
Desirable skills/experience:
Familiarity with Student Information Systems (SIS/SRS) preferably including Tribal SITS, as well as relational databases and API/middleware connections.
Experience in the Higher Education industry would be an advantage.
