Senior Business Support Assistant – Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS)

We provide acute hospital, primary, community and mental health services for a population of over 1.15 million people and to the wider population of 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.

The Part

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Business Support Assistant to deliver a full range of administrative support services for a fixed term.

You will give business support to the Health Improvement Team who run the Employability Service delivered across four HSCP services ESTEEM, Family Nurse Partnership, Youth Health Service and the Social Work Intensive Monitoring Service.

All roles will be considered for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office standards. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only provide a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) if these are met.


Working Pattern: Location & Duration

This is a fixed term role till 31st March 2027.

You will be working part-time hours which are 18 hours each week. You will work these hours Monday to Friday from 0900 until 1700.

This role will be based at West House, Gartnavel General Hospital.

Please note remuneration is Pro Rata (for half time hours).


Main Responsibilities

You will provide administrative support to ensure the effective delivery of the Employability Service including supporting programme monitoring requirements, maintaining accurate data through the Hanlon Employability System and working closely with Employability Coaches to help deliver a comprehensive service.

The work comprises managing day to day administrative responsibilities, handling confidential information and queries, scheduling meetings, drafting agendas and taking correct minutes.

You will also be responsible for planning and arranging their workload efficiently, using problem-solving skills to handle competing priorities and deadlines whilst working cooperatively within a small team and a wider service network.


Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required

Proven experience in a business support or admin function.

HNC or SVQ Level 3 in a Business Support related topic or similar relevant experience.

Excellent organisation, planning and time management skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a larger team.

Proven ability to manage competing priorities and resolve difficulties effectively.

Extensive experience in organising meetings and providing detailed, accurate minutes.

Experienced in Microsoft Office Applications:

  • Word
  • Excel
  • Outlook
  • PowerPoint

Very attentive to detail and accuracy.

Experience in managing confidential material in a suitable way.

Experience of computerised data management systems especially includes Hanlon Employability System (preferred).
