Bakery Operations Director – Providing visa sponsorship
About the Role
This is a senior leadership post for someone who wants to be part of something that counts, a firm with real craft at its core, exciting goals ahead and the values to pursue them in the right way.
As Bakery Operations Director you will have complete responsibility for all operations at our Greenwich plant including production, technical, food safety, hygiene, packing and logistics. You will be responsible for leading a team of department managers and defining the culture, standards and systems of a bakery that is ambitious about their future.
“We are a serious company. We care about quality and we care about our people. We are also a business that is not sitting still. If you have that energy, experience and leadership to help drive it ahead, this is the role for you.”
You will be working closely with our Head of Food and the rest of the senior leadership team and reporting directly to the Managing Director. You will be at the heart of how this business functions and develops.
What the job is like
This is not a desk job. You will be there and you will know: pacing the floor, knowing your colleagues by name, knowing the rhythm of the bakery in shifts and seasons. You wonβt be running the day-to-day operations directly. Your role is to lead the people who manage those operations β grow them, push them, support them and hold them to account.
You will be on the shop floor, not because you have to be there, but because there is where you will see what is truly going on, and where your presence will count most. You will also have time to reflect, to review, to plan and to construct.
You will be required to know this site inside out, its lay out, its equipment, its limits and its prospects. And you will be expected to have a clear idea as to how all of it can be better.
