Job Purpose

Job Purpose: To oversee and lead a group of Outreach Support Workers and make sure that they provide good support services for kids aged 16 to 18.

Applicants must meet stricter hiring standards and pass DBS checks.

Where: Staffordshire

Service Manager is the person you report to.

Areas covered by on-call: Birmingham and Staffordshire (this could change if the firm develops new locations in other areas) The employee will have to pay for company insurance. You can claim mileage, and it will be in line with the company’s policy on mileage and travel for work.


Main Duties and Responsibilities

Duties while on call included

Give young people who are becoming adults hands-on help.

Create a secure and welcoming space that encourages kids to respect and value each other.

Help and encourage young people to set and reach their own goals and dreams.

Lead and coach a group of Support Workers by giving them advice, comments, and training when they need it.

Do initial assessments and regular reviews of the child’s needs and progress.

Work with the team to design and carry out personalised assistance plans.

Follow company rules and processes to handle crises or emergencies in a way that works.

Calm things down and provide the kids emotional assistance when they need it.

Make sure that the living spaces are always kept in great shape.

Plan and keep an eye on routine cleaning and maintenance tasks.

Make sure the place is ready for inspection by doing regular checks.

Keep accurate and up-to-date records of important meetings, risk assessments, impact risk assessments, support plans, and incidents.

Make sure to send regular reports to management and social workers.

Speak up for the rights and needs of kids in the organization and the community.

Work together and go to meetings with social workers, service providers, and local governments to make sure you get all the help you need.

Quickly and effectively deal with any health and safety issues that come up.

Do full health and safety checks and stock checks.

Keep up with the latest laws.

Go to meetings with more than one agency.

Do staff training.

Do staff reviews.

Keep the office and common areas clean so that all residents can use them safely and comfortably.

Cleaning rooms to get them ready for new residents, such as after a young person moves out, to make sure the place is clean, welcoming, and ready for the next person to move in.

In their absence, take on the responsibility of Service Manager, which includes making sure that people are safe.


General Responsibilities

Making sure that all tasks are done to the highest quality standards.

Talking to each other clearly inside the team, with other teams, and with the whole firm.

Helping to spread the word about outreach services in our homes across the area.

The senior outreach support worker must do their job according to the company’s health and safety rules and regulations.

It is important for the senior outreach support worker to always think about equal chances and treat everyone fairly and reasonably, making sure that service standards are upheld for all cultures.

The senior outreach support worker must keep a close eye on all children and company information and keep it completely private.

Requirements/Qualifications:

QCF Level 3/4 in Children and Young People’s Workforce or something similar, or working toward it (Required)

Enhanced DBS record (Required)

Must have a valid driver’s license and business insurance. The employee must pay for the business insurance.

Willingness to get more training (Essential)


Experience:

In a social care setting that is similar (Essential)

Experience working in an assisted living environment (Desirable)

In working with people from ethnic minority groups (Desirable)

When working with vulnerable people from different backgrounds (Desirable)

Use of computerised admin systems often in a busy work setting (Essential)
