Care Home Cook – UK Visa Sponsorship Available is a fantastic opportunity for experienced chefs and cooks looking to build a stable career in the UK care sector. If you are searching for a part-time hospitality role with UK visa support, competitive hourly pay, and a professional care home environment, this role could be the perfect fit.
As a Chef, you will be in charge of making and serving food in a restaurant-style setting. You will also be in charge of keeping the food service areas clean, keeping accurate records, receiving, rotating, and keeping track of inventory, and following all rules. As an important part of the dining services team, you will make sure that all specific dietary demands are satisfied and that food is prepared with the right texture. You will also collaborate with the activities team to plan and prepare for special events that happen in the home. 3–4 days a week, switching off with the other cook.
About you
Experience as a cook or chef
Preferred: knowledge of therapeutic diets
Qualification for a course in food handling
Good talents in both written and spoken communication
Good judgement, the ability to solve problems, and the ability to make decisions.
The person who gets the job should have at least Level 2 NVQ or an equivalent qualification in the field, or be willing to work toward getting one. Flexibility is important so that other culinary personnel can take sick leave and vacation time. A caring disposition, excitement, and taking the initiative are just as crucial.
The Food Standards Agency gave us a level 5 Food Hygiene Rating, and we are quite proud of it. One of your jobs will be to make sure we keep this level of quality for our residents.
