The first place this senior therapy support worker will work is at Cheltenham General Hospital. However, they will also work at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and Cheltenham General Hospital.

You will need to help with the orthopaedic weekend and extended working hours schedule. It would be helpful if you could drive to help with access and home visits.

Main tasks of the job

To apply the principles of Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy together and with the client in mind to help them become more independent, improve their function, and make sure they can leave the hospital safely. This will be done by putting treatment plans into action and helping with rehabilitation within agreed-upon limits through exercise, physical modalities, and the usage of work.
The person who gets the job will be expected to work at both hospital sites and off-site locations as needed.
To evaluate patients, find out what their problems are, what consequences might happen, and what contraindications there are, and if required, send them to a registered practitioner/MDT for further evaluation.
To find and plan the right therapy within a set of responsibilities, report back to a qualified practitioner/MDT, and, if required, send the patient to other agencies.
