Claims Assistant Role – NHS Legal Services (Claims Assistant NHS Jobs 2026)
The team is looking for a Claims Assistant with a lot of expertise to handle the trust’s substantial CNST/LTPS portfolio. It is important to have a good understanding of NHSR/panel and trust working relationships, as well as the capacity to handle low-value claims on your own from start to finish.
Being efficient and having good people skills are really important. It’s crucial for the job to have correct information for learning and reporting.

The claims portfolio is big, and the person who gets the job will have to look at and evaluate instances that can be handled by them and those that need to be managed by someone else.

To work with the Deputy Head of Legal Services to make sure that any LTPS, PES, and CNST claims against the Trust are handled in a comprehensive way.
To handle a caseload of LTPS, CNST, and PES claims on your own, following Trust policy, NHS Resolution requirements, and any other laws or regulations that apply.
Be in charge of making sure that weekly reports are sent out that show the workload of the legal services department and that electronic records and Datix inputs are kept up to date so that reporting is correct.
