Who we are trying to find : Support Worker Jobs
At the Inverkeithing Learning Disability & Neurodiversity Service, we are looking for committed, passionate, and diligent support staff to join our new team. This position is ideal for you if you have a strong desire to significantly improve the lives of persons with learning disabilities.
This position entails both solo and group work in people’s homes, offering practical assistance to help people reach their objectives and lead as independent a life as possible.
We welcome applicants who are keen to advance their careers, acquire useful social care experience, and flourish in a nurturing, education-focused setting.
While full training and support will be provided, prior experience in a support capacity is preferred but not necessary. Above all, we seek individuals who are kind, empathetic, share our values, and are dedicated to making a good, long-lasting difference for the people we support.
The Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1, which allows an occupational requirement for specific genders in such instances, prohibits women from applying for this position due to its intimate nature.
Function and Accountabilities: Support Worker Jobs
Offer assistance that has a beneficial effect on people’s health and well-being.
Participate in and carry out support plans
Take charge of administering and providing all forms of assistance, including tenancy support.

Availability of a vehicle because of outreach sites in rural areas
Willing to work towards and successfully complete qualification within the SSSC-specified timescale, or qualified to the level required by the SSSC as a support worker in a housing support service or care at home service.
We will assist you in obtaining the necessary credentials to register with the SSSC without conditions if you are beginning a career in social care or are currently employed in the field but lack the necessary credentials.

Desired Qualities and Capabilities: Support Worker Jobs
A practice qualification in the category of support workers in a Housing Support Service or Care at Home service (at least SCQF level 7 or above) approved by the SSSC, or a commitment to strive towards this.
Knowledge of the advantages and assistance with budgeting
Prior experience working in an adult social care setting that can be proven
Knowledge of the Care Inspectorate’s mission
Knowledge of the SSSC and its objectives
A certification or accreditation in trauma-informed practice or positive behaviour support.
Extra Information: Support Worker Jobs
This position may entail weekend and shift work.
Membership in the PVG scheme
This position requires SSSC registration.

Information on the Right to Work
Please be aware that starting in July 2025, Home Office regulations mandate that individuals transferring into specific care roles under the Health and Care Skilled Worker route must have worked legally for the sponsoring employer for three months prior to changing the kind of visa. Candidates should keep in mind that our hiring process may take up to 12 weeks when they apply.
Candidates are not given consideration for visa sponsorship by our organisation until they have successfully completed a six-month probationary term. As a result, candidates must already be legally permitted to work in the UK during this time.
All offers are contingent upon meeting Home Office standards and passing a satisfactory right-to-work check.
